Mrs. Dekeuwer Esq. attended the France-Korea business Forum organized by the MEDEF and the Federation of Korean Industries on June 2nd 2016, for the state visit to France of Mrs. Park Geun-Hye, President of the Republic of Korea, escorted by a ministerial delegation, CEO of major group and SMEs. MEDEF is an organization supporting companies and the entrepreneurial spirit composed by 750,000 member companies, 90% of which are SMEs with under 50 employees, and more than 20,000 authorized representatives to carry out 30,000 mandates. MEDEF is the largest entrepreneur network in France.
Korea became the 11rd most powerful economy in the world thanks to its highly performing industry symbolised by several international group, the Chaebols, and also the large number of Start-ups and SMEs, that a lot of representatives were present. Moreover, the Forum was animated by the co-presidents of the France-Korea High-Level Business Club, Mr Marwan Lahoud, President of Airbus Group SAS, and Mr Yang-Ho Cho, President of Korean Air.
The event was focused on the Korean Start-up ecosystem in the field of new technologies and the entrepreneurial exchange program between France and Korea. A plenary session was held to discuss the strengthening of Franco-Korean cooperation on three themes: creative economy and start-up support, cooperation on future technologies and smart cities. This economic forum was an opportunity to learn about the priorities of the Korean government, particularly in the context of the “creative economy”, to identify new prospects for deepening Franco-Korean cooperation.
