Symposium on the Organization for the Harmonization of Business Law in Africa (OHADA) – Lyon 24-25 April 2014
Cecile Dekeuwer participated in the symposium entitled “OHADA, a past, a present and a future : Emergence of a new pole of development.”
OHADA is a Pan-African Association for normalization of business law launched in 1993 in Port Louis (Mauritius). It includes 17 African countries.
This symposium was the result of a collaboration between the National Bar Council (NBC), the Bar of Lyon which Cecile Dekeuwer is an active member in the International Commission (CIBLY) the International Organization of Francophonie and the International Conference of bars with the support of Juriscope and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
Through this meeting different legal topics were discussed. Workshops and interventions on OHADA African mediation and on the diffusion of this harmonized business law as a factor in economic development of a booming continent also took place.
